The forward from Banyoles puts an end to a twelve-year chapter at the Club, where he has grown from the youth academy to the first team
Girona FC and the Portuguese club FC Alverca have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dawda Cámara Sankharé, thus bringing an end to his time as a footballer for the Girona team.
Born in Banyoles on November 4, 2002, Dawda joined Girona FC in 2014 from Porqueres, after standing out for his goal-scoring ability. From the youth categories, the forward progressed within the Club's youth football structure until establishing himself as one of the homegrown players who made it to the first team.
With Girona B, he played more than a hundred official matches, with 102 appearances and 29 goals, contributing significantly to the promotion achieved in the 2024/25 season. That year, he was one of the key players in the play-off for promotion to the Segunda Federación, scoring five goals, three of which came in the final against San Fernando.
The Banyoles-born forward also had the opportunity to debut with the first team during the 2021/22 season, both in the Segunda División and the Copa del Rey. In total, Dawda played 6 official matches with Girona's first team, scoring one goal.
Last season, he played on loan at Cádiz CF in LaLiga Hypermotion, where he gained valuable experience in professional football. With the Cádiz team, Dawda played 36 league and cup matches, scoring 5 goals, establishing himself as a regular offensive option and taking another step forward in his development.
An international with Mauritania, Dawda has also represented his country in youth categories and has been called up to the senior national team.
Girona FC thanks Dawda for his commitment, effort, and dedication during the twelve years he has been part of the club and wishes him the best of luck in this new chapter in Portuguese football.
Good luck, Dawda!!
