Girona FC have signed Oleksandr Pyshchur (Chernihiv, Ukraine, 24 January 2005) this season. The 21-year-old centre-forward, who stands 2.04 metres tall, has signed a five-year contract that will run until 30 June 2031.
Pyshchur joins Girona from ETO FC, of the Hungarian First Division, where he arrived in July 2025. Before that, the new Girona striker had played for three Hungarian clubs: Kisvárda, Puskás Akadémia and Gyirmót, establishing himself as a key attacking presence at the heart of the attack.
A youth international for Ukraine, Pyshchur was one of the standout players at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, where he attracted attention for being one of the tallest players at the tournament and for his attacking impact. In his first match of the competition, against South Korea, he scored with a powerful header. At Girona, he will share the dressing room with Vladyslav Krapyvtsov, his teammate with the Ukraine U-21 national team.
Initially developed at Desna Chernihiv in his native country, Pyshchur continued his development at the MFA Munkach academy, where he made his professional debut and began to establish himself as a centre-forward. He is a physically imposing striker, strong in the air, capable of occupying and pinning back centre-backs, and of creating advantages inside the opposition penalty area.
