<p style="text-align: justify;">Born in Malgrat de Mar on 14 December 2004, 21-year-old Unai returns to a club he knows extremely well. After beginning his football journey at Escola de l’Olímpic Malgrat, he joined Girona at Under-12 level. During his seven seasons in our academy, the Maresme-born player enjoyed a remarkably rapid rise through the ranks. While still only a second-year youth player, he had already become part of the reserve team, although he continued to play some matches with the youth side. In December 2021, Míchel called him up to train with the first team and, shortly afterwards, on 2 January 2022, he was included in the squad that travelled to face Huesca in a league fixture.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In the summer of 2022, FC Barcelona signed Unai, who initially joined the club’s Under-19 A team before progressing to Barça Atlètic. Once again, he stood out thanks to his talent. Xavi Hernández included him in the first-team squad for Barcelona’s final league match of the 2022-23 season against Celta Vigo. However, his first-team debut came in Japan, during a pre-season match against Vissel Kobe. At Barça Atlètic, he became one of the team’s key players. During the 2023-24 season, he made 38 appearances and scored 10 goals.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In January 2025, he completed a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. With the Jeddah-based club, he featured in nine matches and scored one goal before continuing his experience in Arabian football on loan at Al-Shabab.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Girona player possesses an excellent first touch, the ability to carry the ball forward effectively, and the technical quality needed to beat opponents in tight spaces. He is a footballer with great personality and confidence, as well as a notably powerful and accurate shot.</p>
