The Brazilian full-back will spend his third year at Montilivi where he arrived in the summer of 2020. The following season he moved to Portuguese side SC Braga, also on loan, before returning to Girona last year.

Couto, 21, has 56 appearances in the red and white shirt; 25 of them in the First Division, 22 in the Second Division, 5 in the Copa del Rey and 4 in the play-offs. In these two years in Girona he has scored 2 goals and 7 assists.

Trained in the Curitiba youth team in his native country, he stood out in the lower categories of the Brazilian national team. In 2019 he was included in The Guardian's "Next Generation 2019" list as one of the 60 most promising players in world football. The list included players such as Ansu Fati and Pedri. From Curitiba he was signed in the 20/21 season by Manchester City and loaned to Girona.
