Girona FC presented Claudio Echeverri as the new first-team player this Wednesday afternoon. The event took place at the Montilivi Stadium with the presence of president Delfí Geli and sporting director Quique Cárcel, who accompanied the player during his official presentation.

Geli highlighted the potential of the new signing and his contribution to the sports project: “Claudio is a young and promising player who will help us and provide resources to the coach, which is the most important thing.”

For his part, Cárcel emphasized his unique profile and his fit within the team: “Claudio is the kind of player every team needs. He has great movements and is very good at scoring. Both Míchel and I knew we needed a profile like his, and we are happy to have him here.”

During the presentation, Echeverri expressed his satisfaction with joining the Club and his determination to face this new challenge: “I am very happy to be here. On my part, I intend to contribute as much as I can and help the team. The stage at Leverkusen is now part of the past, and I am focused on Girona.”

The player also explained his versatility on the field: “I can adapt to any position where Míchel needs me.”

Echeverri admitted that he spoke with Pep Guardiola before making the decision: “He advised me to come here and told me things about the Club that convinced me. He said I would be fine here.”

Regarding his first days at the Club, he noted: “In the three matches I’ve watched since I’ve been here, the team did well. I am eager to play and help the team.”

The footballer also reflected on his previous stint in Germany: “I went there expecting more minutes, but now I am focused on what’s ahead in Girona.”

Ambitious and motivated, Echeverri concluded his remarks with a clear goal: “My dream is to play and help the team win matches and aim as high as possible.”

Finally, he expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received: “I have been very well received at the Club. The people of Girona are hardworking and have similarities to where I come from.”
