Girona B makes its debut in 2RFEF with ambition and a competitive squad
Girona FC is experiencing a historic moment this Sunday with the debut of its reserve team in the Segunda RFEF, a step forward for the Club's development project. The team, led by Quique Álvarez, faces the challenge with enthusiasm in a season where the reserve team will compete for the first time in the fourth tier of Spanish football.
The red-and-white reserve team, which will play its home matches in Vidreres, will kick off the competition this Sunday in Reus. The first match in front of the fans will be on September 14 against UD Poblense.
The squad is made up of young talents trained in Montilivi and new additions that will bring experience and quality:
- Goalkeepers: Sergi Puig, Aleksandar Metododiev
- Defenders: Pol Arnau, Gibert Jordana, Guillem Badia, Mario Gonzalez, Biel Farrés, Ferran Ruiz, Jordi Bas, Oriol Aguilera, Antonio Salguero, Adrián Miranda
- Midfielders: Raúl Martínez, Lass Kourouma, Aimar Garcia, Zakarya, Miguel, Shinnosuke Katsushima “Shin”, Javier Sarasa
- Forwards: Nil Calderó, Mohammed Hammony, Papa Dame Ba, David Aimar, Carles Garrido, Juan Arango, Pablo Arenzana
The goal will be to compete at the highest level, consolidate the category, and above all, serve as a springboard for players to make the leap to the first team. “It’s a unique opportunity, and we are very eager to start this journey,” highlighted Quique Álvarez in the pre-match interview.
