Girona B takes a point from Barbastro
UD Barbastro and Girona B drew (1-1) in a very evenly matched game at the Municipal de Barbastro, with a thrilling start and two early goals that set the tone for the match. The red-and-white reserve team managed to respond after falling behind on the scoreboard and ended up earning a valuable point away from home.
The Aragonese team struck first. Just in the 4th minute, Gabarre took advantage of an offensive play by the home team to put Barbastro ahead. The goal forced Girona B to fight back early, but the response was immediate.
In the 11th minute, Javi González finished off a good play by the reserve team to restore the tie. The goal rewarded Girona's reaction, as they managed to stay calm, impose their game, and balance the match after an intense start.
With the 1-1 scoreline, the game entered a more tactical phase. Girona B showed defensive organization and control with the ball, while UD Barbastro sought to create danger with direct play and set-piece actions. Despite chances at both ends, the score remained unchanged.
In the second half, the game followed the same pattern as before. Girona tried to create opportunities through possession, while Barbastro aimed to threaten on the counterattack. The home team pushed forward in the final stages, but the reserve team held firm to secure a hard-fought draw.
A point that reinforces the good form of Girona B, capable of quickly responding to the initial blow and showing maturity in a challenging scenario. The red-and-whites will host Valencia Mestalla next Sunday in Vidreres (12:00h).
