Dressed of Champions: From the sea, to the west

Eight statues from the regions of Girona wear the jersey of Girona FC to kick off a historic season

Girona FC is preparing to kick off a season that promises to be historic with a unique and symbolic action: dressing the most emblematic statues of the province of Girona. This action, which is part of the "Girona, territory of Champions" initiative, aims to establish a special connection between the team, the fans and the entire Girona territory and be a reminder that Girona is a land of Champions, with a very high level of excellence in all aspects.

The goal is for everyone, from anywhere in the province, to feel part of this great milestone which is being able to play in the top European competition. Each statue, a symbol of local heritage and identity, will proudly wear the Girona FC shirt during today, becoming a tribute to the eight counties because, as our anthem sings, "we are from this landscape, from the sea to the west". You can see them wearing number 12 (the fans number) in the following locations:

Gironès - Girona - Monument als Defensors de Girona el 1808 i 1898 d’Antoni Parera Saurina (1894)

Alt Empordà - LEscala - El Petit Príncep d’Alfred Fernández (1995)

The initiative to dress the statues not only seeks to strengthen the collective identity of the province, but also to underline the spirit of brotherhood and belonging that unites all Girona men and women behind Girona FC. The club thus reaffirms its commitment to the territory and its people, emphasizing that the strength of Girona FC comes from the unconditional support of its fans and the cultural and natural wealth of a province that has no comparison. We want to remember the past we share, the present we celebrate and a future that will surely be exciting.
