Girona FC has reached an agreement with Atlético de Madrid for Antal Yaakobishvili to play on loan with the reserve team of the Madrid club until the end of the season.
The Hungarian defender will join Atlético Madrileño, managed by Fernando Torres, which this season competes in Group 2 of the Primera Federación, the third tier of Spanish football.
Antal, 22 years old, joined Girona FC in 2021 from Atlètic Sant Just to join the Juvenil A team. He later moved up to Girona B and progressively integrated into the dynamics of the first team. The 1.93-meter-tall center-back stands out for his physical strength, speed, and defensive capabilities.
The player completed this preseason with Girona's first team and, prior to this new loan, gained experience in professional football. Last season, he played on loan at CD Tenerife, and previously, during the first half of the 2025/26 season, he was part of FC Andorra in the Segunda División.
With Girona, Antal has played official matches with the first team in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League. He made his debut in January 2024 against Rayo Vallecano in the Copa del Rey Round of 16, and a few days later, he debuted in La Liga against Sevilla FC. In the 2024/25 season, he also participated in the Champions League match against Arsenal at Montilivi.
This loan to Atlético Madrileño will allow the defender to continue gaining minutes and experience in a competitive category and to keep progressing in his sporting development.
Good luck, Antal, in this new chapter!
