Girona draw with Napoli (1-1)

Stuani opened the scoring, but the Italian side equalised with a harsh penalty.

Girona drew their fifth pre-season match against Napoli at Castel di Sangro. The Girona side, who once again gave a good account of themselves, took the lead with a goal from Stuani, who took advantage of a defensive mistake by the Italian side to beat the goalkeeper and finish in style. Míchel's side stood up to the Italian champions and dominated the first half, which Napoli were able to draw level thanks to a harsh penalty converted by Giovanni Simeone.
Napoli ended up closing down Girona in the second half, but Míchel's men knew how to suffer and controlled the game with order and a dose of defensive sacrifice. Juan Carlos was involved in the clearest chance of the game with a fine save. With the score level (1-1), the game came to an end. Rudi García's team ended up winning in a penalty shoot-out (3-1) in which the Guadalajara goalkeeper saved a penalty.
The next pre-season match will take place on Saturday at 7pm, behind closed doors, at the La Vinya Training Centre. The rival, again, Andorra.
