Míchel Sánchez: "Atlético must feel tomorrow that we are playing for a lot."

Girona FC faces a new decisive match tomorrow against Atlético de Madrid, and the coach, Míchel Sánchez, has appeared at a press conference to analyze a game he considers crucial for the immediate future of the Club.

The red-and-white coach emphasized the importance of the match and the setting, assuring that the team approaches the game as "a new final" with much at stake, to the point of speaking about the "survival of the Club in the First Division." In this regard, Míchel insisted that the team must do "things in the best way" and show their best version in a context of maximum demand.

Regarding the squad's condition, the coach confirmed that Abel remains unavailable, while Donny is included in the squad, a piece of news he described as "very positive." Míchel emphasized that the locker room is fully aware of the importance of the moment and that the situation depends entirely on the team: everything is in their hands.

On Cristhian Stuani, the coach explained that he has not been able to train normally due to a knee knock he has been dealing with, a situation he described as usual. Even so, he expressed confidence that the captain "will give 100%" during the minutes he is on the pitch. Along the same lines, Míchel highlighted the importance of players delivering their best performance in difficult moments, recalling that the team already managed to respond in this way in the previous matchday.

Thinking about the standings, the message was clear and reiterated: "Girona depends on itself." The coach insisted that a victory would allow them to reach the last match with clear chances and urged the team to focus exclusively on their own performance without worrying about other results. "Achieving a positive result in Madrid," he emphasized, "would make the goal within reach."

In terms of match preparation, Míchel explained that they have not been able to train on the field as they would have liked, but he made it clear that the team has a very defined game plan and knows what they need to do during the match. He also mentioned that the lineup is clear, although they will need to assess the physical condition and fatigue of the players in a week with three matches.

Finally, the coach emphasized attitude and determination as the keys to the match. While acknowledging the quality of Atlético de Madrid, which he described as "a great team that always competes," Míchel stressed that the opponent must feel that Girona has more at stake and that this must be reflected on the pitch.
