"Montilivi Race"; solidarity with children
The race, which will take place on November 27 starting and finishing at the stadium, is organized by the Guardiola Sala Foundation.
The "Cursa Montilivi" will take place on November 27. It's a solidarity race organized by the Guardiola Sala Foundation and which was presented today in the press room of the stadium. On behalf of the Guardiola Sala Foundation, its president, Pere Guardiola, explained that “we are a very young foundation that works with the areas of the territory with which we have links, such as Girona. Our goal is to help other foundations and NGO's to carry out their projects”. In the case of Girona, the beneficiary of the race is the Casal de Infants Salt-Girona, an entity that fights against the social exclusion of boys and girls.
For his part, the president of Girona FC, Delfí Geli, has expressed his pride that Montilivi is hosting this solidarity action and has thanked those who have made it possible.
Joaquim Ayats was also present at the presentation, highlighting that “there are initiatives that go beyond the result, such as this one. It is fantastic when sport becomes a tool for integration, solidarity and health while helping to work on values”.
Gemma Batlle, Director of Institutional Banking at CaixaBank in Girona, explained that the entity has not only contributed economically to the race but also materially “with the participation of our volunteers. As I also want to highlight the trust that our customers have in us, an essential situation to support events like this one”.
Finally, Monica Gibanel, director of the Casal de d'Infants de Salt-Girona, intervened, stating that "we accompany children in a life career that unfortunately many begin further back. Ours is a fight against hereditary poverty”. Ella Gibanel added that they work with 300 families.”
The race
The "Cursa Montilivi" will take place on November 27 with departure and arrival at the Montilivi stadium. Participants will be able to choose between two distances: 5 and 10 km. To register it is necessary to enter the website www.cursamontilivi.cat.
