Ter Stegen, red and white!

The German goalkeeper arrives on loan from FC Barcelona until the end of the season.

Girona FC and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the loan of Marc-André ter Stegen, who will defend the red-and-white goal until the end of the season.

Born on April 30, 1992, in the German city of Mönchengladbach, Ter Stegen is a goalkeeper trained in the youth ranks of Borussia Mönchengladbach, a club with which he debuted in the Bundesliga at just eighteen years old. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising goalkeepers in German football thanks to his competitive maturity and consistent performance. His constant growth led him, in 2014, to sign for FC Barcelona, where he has developed most of his professional career.

During his time with the Blaugrana team, Ter Stegen has played 423 official matches and has been a key player in numerous collective successes, both in national and international competitions. The new red-and-white player has won, among others, one Champions League, six La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey trophies, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup. His performance has consistently placed him among the most highly regarded goalkeepers in the world of football and has established him as a full international with the German national team.

As for his technical characteristics, Ter Stegen is considered a modern, complete goalkeeper with a great ability to adapt to different styles of play. He stands out for his excellent ball-playing skills, a fundamental aspect for teams that aim to build play from the back, as well as for his quick reflexes and reliability in close-range situations. Added to this is his good positioning in the area, reliability in aerial play, and notable tactical awareness, which allows him to anticipate the opponent's offensive actions. His personality and leadership are also an added value, as they help organize and instill confidence in the defensive line.
